MTS speaks against unlimited mobile Internet sharing

MOSCOW, Oct 31 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MTS opposes unlimited sharing of the mobile Internet, the company said on Tuesday in a statement.

“The absence of limits for few clients using the mobile network for torrents and streaming results in significant degradation of connectivity quality for most of the subscribers,” MTS said.

“Making the price of traffic equal for all the categories of devices will force the operators to raise the price of traffic for all tariffs,” the company added.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service said on Monday that MegaFon; VimpelCom, working as Beeline; and T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2, decided to cancel payment for Internet traffic sharing.
